- Is Co:Z really free?
Yes. The Co:Z Toolkit can be requested for free use under our Community License as long as you are not
working with an outsourcer or other third party for the installation, management, operation, or support of the Co:Z Toolkit software.
If you are working with an outsourcer or a third party, contact us for a simple evaluation license.
If your company requires that products have support in a production environment or you are using an oursourcer or other third party, we offer
an Enterprise License and Support Agreement.
This is an annual subscription-based agreement. Pricing is based on the "total MSUs" in your enterprise. Refer to
IBM's published numbers for "full capacity MSUS"
to calculate the total MSUs in your enterprise.
- What if we work with an outsourcing provider?
The Community License does not allow an outsourcer to install, manage, operate, or support the software.
If you are using an outsourcing provider, contact us to get an Enterprise License and Support Agreement in place.
Alternatively, reach out to your outsourcing provider to see if they will place an order for you. We have agreements in place with several outsourcing providers.
- How hard is it to install? What are the prerequisites?
The Co:Z Toolkit can be installed is just a few minutes using our self-extracting installer.
Our Installation Guide walks you through the steps and provides
information on system requirements.
- Why is IBM z/OS OpenSSH a prerequisite? What versions are supported?
The Co:Z Toolkit uses z/OS OpenSSH to establish a secure connection, i.e. authentication and key exchange.
z/OS V2R2 or later includes OpenSSH. We provide a Quick Install Guide to help systems programmers quickly configure IBM z/OS OpenSSH.
- Can I run multiple versions?
Yes. The Co:Z Toolkit installer allows the installation directory and datasets to be configured. Once installed, your JCL and path can be configured to
refer to the desired version.
- What if I have a question or a problem using the Co:Z Toolkit?
Customers that have purchased enterprise customer support use a secure ticket system to report problems and questions.
Customers using the Co:Z Toolkit under our community license can post questions and problems to our free forum.
If you wish to post questions on our forum, please see the Licensing and Support page for the registration code
that you will need when you go through the sign up process. We do not accept product support questions via email.
- What are the components in the Co:Z Toolkit? Where can I find examples to get started?
The Co:Z Co-Processing Toolkit has five main components which can be used independently or in combinations. There are many examples documented

- How is the Co:Z Co-Processing Toolkit most commonly used?
While the Co:Z Toolkit can be used in a number of different ways, the primary use cases are z/OS Enabled SFTP with z/OS Unix Batch Integration and z/OS Hybrid Batch.

- If I install the Co:Z Toolkit on my z/OS system, do I need to install the Co:Z Target System Toolkit on the remote systems in order to use SFTP?
No. The Co:Z SFTP Server is compatible with most existing SFTP products.

Additionally, the Co:Z SFTP z/OS client (cozsftp) is compatible with OpenSSH servers and other standards-compliant SFTP server products.
The Co:Z Target System Toolkit is required if you wish to run z/OS Hybrid Batch or
z/OS Remote Services.

All toolkit documentation is online. Additionally, several
